According to Reuters, Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) projects that domestic aluminium demand will double within five to seven years, climbing from 1 million metric tons to between 1.6 million and 1.8 million metric tons annually by 2030.

Maaden executive Ahmad al-Alshaikh cited massive national infrastructure initiatives, including 15 new stadiums and global event facilities for the FIFA World Cup 2034, as primary demand drivers.

Maaden currently produces 780,000 tons of primary aluminium per year and sells 85% of its output domestically, providing a reliable local supply base amid broader Middle Eastern geopolitical tensions.
