Hydro announced plans to shutter its Extrusion North America plants in City of Industry, California, and Delhi, Louisiana, over the course of 2027.

Operations in California will cease on January 1, 2027, with minor activity extending through the first quarter. The Louisiana facility will halt production on April 1, 2027, winding down completely by the third quarter.

The closures affect around 350 employees, who receive transition support and opportunities to transfer to alternative regional locations. Low capacity utilization and substantial required capital upgrades led to the decision.

To prevent customer disruptions, Hydro began shifting manufacturing tasks and retooling other North American sites. The company expects to complete this production transfer by the end of the first quarter of 2027 to optimize long-term efficiency.
