Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) launched a pilot program upgrading thirteen reduction cells with E40 technology at its Al Taweelah smelter in the United Arab Emirates.
Full industrial implementation across all 808 reduction cells in potlines one and two could increase hot metal production by 67,000 tons annually. The program also aims to lower net specific energy consumption and associated carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6% per ton of metal produced.
The initiative accelerates installation during the restoration of Al Taweelah following an emergency shutdown.
