It was reported that Vietnamese customs intercepted about US$4.3 billion of Chinese aluminum with wrong labels of “made-in-Vietnam” before they were shipped to the US.
These aluminum products were imported from China and tended to avoid US tariffs. Vietnamese customs and American authorities both together worked on this investigation.
Vietnam has become the biggest destination for suppliers to escape US and Chinese tariffs due to the trade war. Vietnamese authorities traced more carefully to product origins and tightened issuance of certificates of origins for exports to stop this kind of trade fraud.
Vietnam government is working hard to prevent the Vietnam from being taken advantage for the purpose of avoiding tariffs with any markets.
According to statistics, Vietnamese shipments to the US increased by 26.6% in the first 10 months this year compared to the same period in 2018.
