According to the announcement by Vedanta Aluminium, Indian largest aluminum producer, it had launched its latest product line Primary Foundry Alloy (PFA) for Indian automotive industry, which brought the company to be Indian first primary aluminum producer supplying the material for alloy wheels.
Currently the automotive and its ancillary industries were mainly relying on imports for the product.
The company said its strategy of creating a production capacity of 240,000 tons was consistent with the Indian government’s movement "Make in India”, which could satisfy the domestic demand of automotive companies and OEMs. Moreover, the localization of the raw material supply chain could also support the domestic auto sector.
