According to statistics from the US Geological Survey, the US’ imports of semi-finished aluminum products, including aluminum plates, sheets and bar, decreased in January, plummeting by 70.35% compared to the previous month.
Among them, the imports from Saudi Arabia were around 7,500 tons, a month-on-month drop of 27.48%. Thailand ranked second with around 4,600 tons, a month-on-month increase of 9.64%.
As for exports, the US’ semi-finished aluminum products export volume totaled around 68,000 tons in January, hiking by 21.57% from the previous month. Canada was the major destination with around 31,000 tons, followed after Mexico with approximately 26,000 tons.
