Noranda Alumina, an alumina refinery in Gramercy, Louisiana, was scheduled to resume its production of alumina production and bauxite refining operations within a week from August 29 after completing extensive inspections after Hurricane Ida.
Approximately 80% of production capacity was expected to be resumed within the week once the alumina production capacity is restored completely.
It was understood that Hurricane Ida didn’t seriously damage this alumina plant, which was closed as part of preventive measures after Hurricane Ida attacked.
