It was reported that the US government has approved the first application of exemption from the 10% aluminum import tariff.

The applicant was Mandel Metals, an aluminum distributor based in Franklin Park, Illinois. The company filed the application with the reason that its aluminum product was not available in the US.

After the approval of exemption application, Mandel Metals will be able to purchase 100 tons of aluminum sheet from the designate suppliers.
