Recently, the Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced a partnership with Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) to evaluate the use of building materials in bauxite slag. Bauxite slag was a production of alumina refining in biological production.
At present, most of the world's bauxite slag was used as waste and stored indefinitely. Industry experts estimated that at least the annual production was 150 million tons of bauxite slag. The EGA's news released that there were less than 2% by using bauxite slag.
The EGA was currently building its first alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
