According to the statistics from Taiwanese Bureau of Foreign Trade, from January to September, the export value of Taiwanese total aluminum products were US$620 million, increasing by about 20%, mainly export to China, the US and Vietnam. Among them, about US$127 million exports to the US, which was three times increased than the same period of last year.
Since last year the US imposed anti-dumping and balancing taxes on aluminum products imported from China, benefiting the orders transferred to Taiwan suppliers.
The US 232 National Security surveyed carbon and alloy steel plates and long products used for home appliances and construction, carbon steel and alloy steel pipes for oil transportation, hot-rolled steel plate, semi-finished steel products, stainless steel used for kitchenware and so on were imposed extra 25% of import tax.
Although Taiwanese steel exports to the US decreased for that issue, the exports to the EU, Southeast Asian countries, Canada and Turkey rose, and the overall export was also growing.
