According to the report, Taiwanese mills hasn’t obtained tariff exemptions from the US. However, Taiwanese steel exports to the US declined by 12% in the first 3 quarters this year. Among them, the exports of carbon steel and alloy steel plates used in automotive components shrunk by 40%, but aluminum products exported to the US increased by 3 times.

Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs Bureau of Foreign Trade said that although Taiwanese exports to the US have declined due to the market strategies, Taiwanese overall export orders showed a steady growth at present, including exports to the European Union (EU), Southeast Asian, Canada, Turkey and other countries.
