Sierra Mineral Holdings 1 Limited, a large bauxite mining company in Moyamba, Sierra Leone, expected its bauxite output to reach approximately 1.4 million tons in 2020, lower than 1.8 million tons of last year.
The previously planned production for 2020 was around 2 million tons; however, the production was hard to increase since the COVID-19 epidemic weakened the demand.
Sierra Mineral mainly exports bauxite to the Romanian alumina plant, and the firm stared to plan to export to China at the end of this year.
