It was reported that Shanxi Chinalco China Resources Co., Ltd. had a plan to increase the annual production capacity of electrolytic aluminum by 250,000 tons in 2020, which will hike the total annual production capacity to 500,000 tons.
The firm officially started production in the third quarter of 2018, and it was currently under a production capacity of 250,000 tons, which was only half of the capacity due to power supply restrictions.
The State Grid of China will solve this problem in the fourth quarter of this year, and the remaining electrolytic aluminum production capacity might be launched in the future.
