In light of sanctions imposed by the US, Russian aluminum giant Rusal stated almost a half percentage decrease in their profits in the first quarter. The Sanctions placed in April of 2018 were finally lifted in late January, 2019 after Rusal had undergone organizational changes.
Based on data from April the company has reported lessened output of aluminum as well as value-added product sales in their first quarter.
With the US sanctions placed, multiple of the firm’s contracts had been affected. According to Chief Executive Evgenii Nikitin, Rusal will subsequently prioritize resume its market status in an attempt to maintain certainty in the global aluminum market.
