United Company RUSAL (RUSAL), the second largest aluminum company in the world, reported that its revenue reached US$7.92 billion roughly in the first 3 quarters this year, up by 9.6% compared to the same period a year ago; its net profit reached around US$1.55 billion, up by 98.1% year on year; the adjusted net profit came to US$870 million roughly, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%.
From the first quarter to the third quarter, RUSAL’s revenue from sales of primary aluminum and alloys was up by 6.2% to US$6.44 billion roughly, which mainly benefited from the increase in aluminum prices, but some of the increase was offset by the drop in sales volume.
Besides, RUSAL’s revenue from the sales of alumina rose by 34.1% to US$720 million roughly, which was mainly due to a hike in the average prices, but some of the rise was offset by the decrease in sales volume.
