This May, RUSAL’s aluminum exports increased to 197,000 tons, a nearly three-fold increase from previous month. Total export volume from January to May amounted to around 970,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16%.
After the United States delayed the deadline for lifting RUSAL with sanctions, RUSAL has begun to resume shipments to some customers. Since the United States imposed sanctions against RUSAL on April 6th, some customers demanded that RUSAL temporarily suspended shipments until their legal team confirmed the contract with RUSAL, and allowed to accept RUSAL's products before October 23rd.
Last year, RUSAL exported 3.95 million tons of aluminum products, of which 42% were sold in Europe.
