It was reported that the aluminum supply agreement between RUSAL and Glencore would be renewed in 2019, but the supply might be reduced due to the higher demand on RUSAL’s high value-added products.
RUSAL planned to increase its sales of high value-added aluminum to 50%~52% this year and 60% by 2021. In the latest aluminum supply agreement, it was expected that RUSAL would cut 25~50% from its annual aluminum supply of 14.5 million tons in the previous seven-year supply contract.
The aluminum supply agreement between the two companies was valid from 2012 to 2018, with the highest value of US$47 billion in 2012.
