RUSAL, a global leading aluminum supplier in Russia, said last Friday (September 30) speculation that the company was planning to deliver its aluminum into London Metal Exchange (LME) warehouses is misleading. Some market participants expressed their concerns about RUSAL’s decision of not to sell its metals but to offload them into LME warehouses.
Regarding this news, RUSAL said that the suggestion is not in line with the company’s physical sales, and it will continue to provide service to global customers, including negotiations and planned 2023 offtakes.
The LME said last Thursday that it was considering whether to continue the trading and storage of Russian metals, such as aluminum, nickel, and copper, in the LME system, and no final decision has been made yet.
