United Company RUSAL (RUSAL), the Russian Federation aluminum giant, reported poor third-quarter results last week. The analysis of the financial data showed that although RUSAL’s production had increased overall, LME price weakness had dragged down the sales figures.
Moreover, RUSAL's production in the first nine months of this year (2019) was at the same level as last year's, but it was producing more bauxite than last year. Even so, RUSAL was optimistic that end-use activity would save the day on the supply side.
RUSAL predicted that the demand for green aluminum products would increase in the future, which was a new opportunity for the market. RUSAL was also committed to building a low-carbon aluminum brand to meet the new expectations of the market.
