Alro Group, one of the main aluminum companies in Romania, announced that it has reached a new agreement with coal and power group Complexul Energetic Oltenia (CE Oltenia), for joint construction of an 850MW natural gas power plant in Işalniţa.
The project was expected to be put into operation in 2026, and it will replace the current two old coal-fired plants.
Alro will invest EUR 43.5 million in the project and will own a 40.1% stake, while CE Oltenia will participate with EUR 65 million for a stake of 59.9%.
