According to the July-September quarterly report released by Rio Tinto, a leading global mining group in Australia, the output forecast of aluminum, alumina and bauxite in 2019 was lower compared to the previous expectation.

The statistics showed that Rio Tinto's aluminum production totaled around 790,000 tons in the third quarter, down by 3% year on year and dropping by 2% from the previous quarter.

The drop was mainly due to the lower scheduled production from Rio Tinto's aluminum smelter in Hafnarjordur, Iceland, Kitimat smelter in British Columbia and Bécancour Smelter (ABI) in Quebec, Canada.
