Dr. Xavier Jayakumar, the current Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources of Malaysia, said the Pahang government will make a final decision on the application to resume bauxite mining in Pahang.
Xavier emphasized that the relevant industry had to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) on mining and exporting activities of bauxite.
The minister announced earlier that the draft of the bauxite mining activities and mining SOP in Pahang has been finalized after considering views from certain experts and non-governmental organizations, and the draft has entered into force.
