Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji, the Deputy Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources, said that Pahang has obtained the approval to resume the mining operation of bauxite; however, only one pilot area, Gebeng Industrial Area, was allowed to have bauxite mining activities currently, and the bauxite miners had to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) to avoid causing environmental pollution again.
According to the Minister, the government will further discuss other mining areas if the pilot area was operated successfully.
