Novelis Inc., a Georgia-based industrial aluminum company, announced a renewal of its contract with Airbus. The two parties have cooperated for more than 30 years.
Under the deal, Novelis will supply Airbus with aluminum plates and sheets and wing skins used in the A320 aircraft family.
Wing skins are particularly demanding products. The pre-machining is required for long components and special alloys in order to meet the most stringent aircraft industry standards.
Novelis is the only supplier in Europe and Asia to produce aluminum flat-rolled products for the aerospace industry. Its Zhenjiang and Koblenz plants have all the certifications required to comprehensively supply the aviation industry.
