Novelis Inc., a Georgia-based industrial aluminum company, has announced that it has completed a US$150 million expansion project.

The rolling and recycling capacity at its plant in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil will be raised by 100,000 tons. The production capacity will be increased to around 680,000 tons for aluminum sheet making and 490,000 tons for aluminum recycling.

This expansion project supports Novelis’ sustainability goals to cut its carbon emissions by 30% by 2026 and to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2050.

This expansion was expected to create 90 new jobs for this plant in Pindamonhangaba.
