As a major producer of aluminum in Europe, Norway said that the impact of US steel and aluminum tariffs was very little, because only a few of the country's overseas metal transport business will be sold to the US.

In a newly released report, Norway Statistics showed that Norway exported aluminum with a value of around 32 billion CZK to the European market in 2017, of which about 97% were sold to the European market, while only 0.2% of the aluminum was sold to the US. Therefore, Norway has decided not to take any retaliatory measures against the US.

However, at the same time, the Norwegian statistics bureau, Statistics Norway, also issued a warning that if the US imposed tariffs on imported cars in Europe, Norway's aluminum export business will also be affected.
