According to Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company, the firm’s sales of low-carbon aluminum from recycled beverage cans and other waste was expected to double this year. Moreover, the sales volume of recycled aluminum was expected to increase further, reaching 40,000-50,000 tons by 2021.
Norsk Hydro said that real estate developers in Europe, North America and other regions were willing to afford higher metal prices to lower carbon emissions although global demand for aluminum was weak currently.
