According to the market news, last weekend Norsk Hydro's bauxite mine in Paragominas, northern Brazil, has resumed operation after the repair of the electric tower, and its Alunorte aluminum smelter was restoring normal operations.
The company said that the collapse of the electric tower only slightly affected the finances and operations, but there were no casualties and no customers’ rights had been impaired.
Although Alunorte was the largest aluminum smelter in the world, the impact for the aluminum prices was not too big, because the company had announced it would recover the capacity within 10 days.
