It was reported that Norsk Hydro ASA, a Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company, announced last month to do a broad restructuring on its rolling business in order to improve the quality and stability for aluminum foil products with the new production lines, with a total investment of 30 million euros.
The restructuring plan included the efficiency measures and the previously scheduled closure of parts of foil production at its Grevenbroich plant in Germany, which was only a small part of Hydro’s aluminum foil business, according to Stefan Knabben, sales director in Hydro’s Rolled Products business area.
