According to the automotive plate project manager of Shandong Nanshan Aluminium Co., Ltd., the Chinese automotive industry consumed around 3.8 million tons of aluminum in 2018, of which 72% was for passenger cars.
The total aluminum consumption was predicted to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 8.9% to 10.7 million tons by 2030.
