It was reported that on August 28th, 2018, the Mexican Ministry of Economic Affairs issued an announcement to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum foil originating in China for domestic or industrial use (less than 0.08mm in thickness, for simple pressing, larger than 100mm in outer diameter, greater than 5kg in weight).
The dumping investigation period was from January 1st, 2017 to December 31st, 2017, and the damage investigation period was from January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2017. The involved Mexican customs code for the product was 7607.11.01.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs had the right to impose anti-dumping duties on imported products before the implementation of the temporary anti-dumping measures within 90 days.
