Metro Mining Limited, an Australia-based exploration and mining company, said its third-quarter bauxite shipment was lower than expected due to the significant unplanned outages of tug boats, which delayed marine logistics.

During the period, the shipment from its Bauxite Hills Mine hiked by 73.6% quarter on quarter and dropped by 11.2% year on year to 1.092 million tons. The bauxite output at this mine totaled 1.101 million tons, compared to 729,000 tons in the June quarter and 1.062 million tons in the September quarter of 2020.

Metro Mining remained its production goal at 3.3-3.5 million wet tons for this year, depending on weather’s impact on operations not beyond expectation.
