An aluminum plant with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons in Yunnan Province has stopped production after an explosion last Thursday, which triggered concerns on supply and led to a hike in London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminum prices.
As of 13:35 Taipei time last Friday (November 19), the LME aluminum futures prices rose by 1.91% to US$2,666/ton, and the highest intraday point hit US$2,693/ton.
