Indonesia is the largest production and export country of bauxite in the world. The Indonesian government decided to implement the bauxite ore export ban on June 10. The ban will reduce bauxite exports by around 8.09 million tons, with a value of US$288.52 million in 2023.
The Indonesian president once indicated that this policy could boost the additional value of natural resources, employment opportunities, and foreign exchange earnings, as well as promote the economy.
