Indonesia Antam planned to expand its production capacity of ferronickel and bauxite.
As of the end of this year, the ferronickel plant development plan was expected to be completed. Annual production of ferronickel was expected to grow from around 30,000 tons to 40,500 tons. In the first half of the year, Antam's production of ferronickel was around 13,000 tons, an increase year-on-year.
On the other hand, the Indonesian government increased Antam's export quotas for low-grade nickel and bauxite. From March this year to next March, the original low-grade nickel ore export quota was 2.7 million tons; from October this year to next October, the export quota increased by 1.2 million tons.
