In the fiscal year 2022-23 (FY23, April 2022-February 2023), India’s alumina exports to Russia surged to 258,000 tons from zero tonnage in the previous period of FY22. The value of these exports amounted to US$89.87 million, ranking third among all commodities sold to Russia.
India's alumina exports to Russia accounted for 14.4% of the total exports and 12.7% of the total value of exports of alumina.
Russia has replaced China, becoming the third-largest importers of India’s alumina.
