According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), the production of primary aluminum in South America totaled around 95,000 tons in June, up by nearly 8% compared to the same month a year ago.
In the first half of this year, the total production had a year-on-year decline of 15.57% to 520,000 tons roughly.
In 2018, the production of primary aluminum in South America amounted to approximately 1.16 million tons.
