Hydro planned to invest NOK 390 million to introduce a new extrusion press to expand the production capacity at its aluminum manufacturing plant in Suzhou, China.
The new press will produce automotive components, mainly for crash management systems, and will meet the growing demand from automotive and electric vehicle markets.
Hydro expected that this new investment will be put into operation in mid-2023 and it will create 75 new jobs in Suzhou.
