Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro said that 665 employees at Hydro Sunndal, organized in the Norwegian trade union Industri Energi, planned a strike for August 22.
The strike will affect the production at the primary aluminum plant. 20% of the production will be reduced, involving roughly 80,000 tons of capacity. The current annual production capacity of Hydro Sunndal is up to 400,000 tons.
Hydro's other primary aluminum plants were not affected by this strike at Hydro Sunndal.
