Hydro has signed a power purchase agreement with Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), a power company in the US.
This agreement, which was first long-term energy contract signed by Hydro in the US, involved around 48MW of generation. CPV will supply power to Hydro’s Cressona operations in the second quarter of 2022.
The power supplied by CPV to Hydro's Cressona plant is renewable solar power, which could ensure the competitive advantage in power costs for Hydro's aluminum extrusion plant in Cressona.
