Hindalco Industries Ltd., a leading aluminum and copper company in India, said on December 23th that it has resumed the production at Muri alumina refinery in Jharkhand, which was suspended in April due to a leak in the red-mud storage area.
The Muri alumina refinery began the restart program after receiving the approval from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB), and Hindalco said that it might not need import sources of alumina in the future.
