Heineken, the second-largest beer maker in the world, said that they are going to face a cost of around US$400 million this year, of which aluminum and resin accounted for a big part. The increase in freight costs and metal used in beer cans will substantially impact profits next year.

The benchmark aluminum price has risen by more than 30% so far this year, and the price was even closed to the 10-year high this Monday.

As the demand for aluminum was boosted by the demand for low-carbon energy, coupled with the fading oversupply which has lasted for several years, the outlook of aluminum price became pessimistic.

According to Goldman Sachs Group, a leading multinational investment bank and financial services company based in the US, forecasted that the aluminum price will exceed US$3,000/ton by the end of next year, hitting a record high.
