It was reported that Guinea’s military ruler asked the local mining companies to support the development of the country’s economy. He also assured the industry that the production will be allowed to carry on without obstruction after the coup occurred on September 5.
Guinea is the second-largest bauxite producer and China’s largest bauxite supplier, while the people there are still living in poverty. Most of the bauxite ore is shipped to other countries, but almost no local renovations are in progress.
The heads of West African countries held the second emergency meeting on September 16 to discuss the urgent situation in Guinea. In the meantime, the relevant people of the Guinea incident also held a meeting with the mining industry.
