According to statistics from the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global alumina production was around 5.73 million tons in March, up by 10.37% compared to the previous month and also rising by 4.97% from the same month a year ago.
In the first quarter of this year, global alumina production amounted to roughly 16.64 million tons, a quarter-on-quarter reduction of 1.05% and a year-on-year increase of 3.57%.
In March, China's alumina output was 3.31 million tons, hiking by 10.3% month on month. In the first quarter, China's alumina output totaled around 9.63 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 6.4%.
