It was reported that the environmentalists in Ghana recently filed a complaint to the government to prevent Ghana and China from signing a bauxite mining plan in Atewa Range Forest, which is an important forest reserve.

According to environmentalists, the mining plan will ruin the environment and harm people's right to have clean and healthy surroundings.

This mining plan included a US$2 billion cooperation agreement signed by Ghana and China. Under the agreement, China will obtain bauxite produced by the mine in exchange for funding Ghana's basic construction project.

The High Court of Ghana has agreed to a trial on July 1st.
