The Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) entered into an agreement with Italian engineering group Danieli to construct a downstream aluminum facility.
Located within the Integrated Industrial Park in the Tema Heavy Industrial Zone, Danieli plans to invest roughly EUR 300 million into this processing infrastructure.
The project includes an aluminum foil rolling plant targeting an annual output between 40,000 and 45,000 tons of value-added aluminum foil for packaging, food service, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications. It also incorporates a Center of Excellence focused on training and technical innovation.
This venture drives Ghana toward a fully integrated value chain, transitioning away from raw bauxite exports. The strategic location near Tema Port and VALCO’s smelter aids efficient export operations, boosting employment and international earnings.
