According to the report, the chief financial officer (CFO) of a Norwegian aluminum company, Norsk Hydro ASA, announced that the aluminum demand has diminished because of the weak sales caused by the German auto and construction industry.
The company expected that the demand for aluminum would increase by 1-2% this year, lower than the previous expectation in April by 1-3%.
Moreover, the weak Chinese economic growth also influenced the aluminum market, reaching an overall balance between supply and demand, for the first time in recent years.
