According to a report from the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA), the European rolling mills’ delivery totaled 231,700 tons in the first quarter of 2023, falling by 3.3% compared to the same period a year ago but slightly lower than the 239,500 tons in the pre-epidemic period in 2020.
Due to the increase in inventory and consumers demand, aluminum foil trading has recovered to the 2020 level.
In the first quarter of this year, the European delivery of aluminum foil dropped by 6% overall, of which the decrease in thinner gauges, mainly used in flexible packaging and other kitchen applications, was the largest, at 5.5%.
