Japan Aluminum Association had announced its monthly report for Japanese aluminum trade statistic on June 27th.
The Japanese total aluminum capacity of May in 2019 was approximately 160,000 tons, decreased 7.2% year-on-year, reduced for the 17th consecutive month. Among them, the output of aluminum sheet products decreased by 6.8% to around 100,000 tons, and the output of extruded products decreased by 7.8% to 58,700 tons.
Although the numbers showed that the market was facing challenges, as electric vehicles gradually became a trend, aluminum would be more widely used to reduce the weight of the car, which would drive the demand for aluminum.
According to the report from Commodity Research Unit (CRU), world's leading British authority analysis agency had predicted that the aluminum demand from the electric vehicles would grow ten times in 2030, achieved 10 million tons.
