Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a premium aluminum producer based in the UAE and the largest aluminum producer in the Middle East, has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, becoming part of the UAE Hydrogen Leadership Initiative.
After joining the Initiative, EGA will be able to explore cooperation opportunities across industries, increasing research and development into the future uses of hydrogen in decarbonization.
Suhail Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said that the move will create a new model for constructive cooperation to strengthen hydrogen's position as a key enabler for the decarbonization of carbon-intensive industries.
